We all know that people are amazing and can do incredible things. But we also know that people are not perfect and sometimes make mistakes. Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) is all about helping people do their best work, while also making sure that those mistakes don’t cause big problems. HOP focuses on creating a work environment that supports people’s strengths and abilities, and also makes it easier to avoid and recover from errors, especially when those errors could have serious consequences.
Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m so glad you’re here.
You might be wondering who I am and what this blog is all about. Well, let me tell you a little bit about myself and my passion for human and organizational performance (HOP).
About Me
I’m a chartered human factors and ergonomics specialist with over 10 years of experience in various industries, especially those that deal with high-risk situations such as offshore oil and gas, onshore oil terminals, manufacturing, and engineering services.
I've spent over a decade helping organizations better manage human and organizational factors to reduce error and improve quality and productivity.
What is HOP and Why Does It Matter?
HOP is a holistic approach that focuses on understanding how people interact with their work environment, systems, processes, and tools. It aims to improve the performance, safety, health, and well-being of both individuals and organizations. HOP recognizes that human error is inevitable and that people are not the problem, but the solution. HOP helps organizations learn from mistakes, prevent incidents, and create a positive culture.
